Economic and Fiscal Oversight

Strategic Objective:
  • To render socio-economic research that informs resource allocation within the province and to optimise provincial own revenue.
     
Functions:
  • The coordination of economic policy processes.
  • Ensure synergy between departmental, provincial and national policies.
  • Represent the department at Policy Forums.
  • Conduct research on socio-economic issues.
  • Conduct impact assessment of budget allocations.
  • The interpretation of research and statistics.
  • The monitoring and evaluation of policy implementation.
  • Promote alignment of budget to strategic plans.
